Rock Your Summer 34Below: 6//2/06 Rumors are abound and people are asking if 34Below is breaking up. Well, we can tell you first hand that the rumors are wrong and we're gearing up for a hot summer with some rockin shows! If you haven't had the chance to catch us at the Grandstand Stage at the SD Fair, we're returning for another performance on Friday, June 30th. It will be a show you don't want to miss! Our buddy Wyland will also be there this year so be sure to stop by and check out his new wall and other cool stuff. The Tour Page has been updated with more of our summer shows line-up. We've got a wide variety from intimate unplugged to full electric concerts. We had a visit from our good friend Mike Trout. He's been jamming with us at a few of our recent shows. Somehow he managed to find a box in his mom's attic filled with some "Yellow Tapes!" Yea, it's the mysterious five song tape cassette that was released before our first CD "Live at the Velvet Lounge." We stared at the tapes for quite sometime pondering how the heck we were going to listen to it since none of us has a tape player. I smell a digital conversion in the near future? A few jams have been in the works and new tunes are coming along great. We're hoping to have some new songs for you soon so keep in touch and thanks for all your support. We couldn't keep living our dreams without you!

Save Steve:
10//18/05
No, it's not a
Ferris Bueller thing, Steve is actually sick. He collapsed a
couple weeks ago, went to the hospital and was diagnosed
with encephalitis. He's recovering now but the MRI, Spinal
Tap, and other tests left him with some hefty hospital
bills. We'll be performing a special benefit concert for him
tomorrow night. Wednesday, October
19th at Cane's. You can purchase
tickets on our
Tour Page
and all the proceeds will go to help him out. Tell all your
friends in the area to come and support the cause. Thanks
again to everyone who has already sent in emails wishing him
well. He is getting better but will be recuperating for a
few weeks. We're praying for a speedy recovery and hoping
he'll be back on stage soon. New Photos, New Shows: 8//26/05 What's the best part about Touring? Hmm,...all the new places? The new faces and friends? The awesome memories? We tried to capture some of the tour by taking snapshots with Chris's cell phone. Take a peek at the Photo Page, but we're still awaiting a slew of more shots that others took of us while on tour. These photos will be up soon, so check back in the next few weeks for updated tour pics! There were places where we forgot to take pictures, ....like when driving down to La Paz, Mexico and watching the 18 wheeler go off the side of a hill in front of us. Yikes! We counted over 200 graves on the side of the road during the trip down. Several stops by 15 year old kids with machine guns, and camouflage cows in the middle of the road at night. If you have pics you'd like to send, feel free to post them on our Message Board or email them to us and they may end up on the site.
New shows are being added
every day. This weekend will take us back to
Mexico. (We'll need to break out more of our
songs in Spanish again.) It's a short trip -
we'll return to plug our amps in and rock out
Pacific Beach on Sunday, August 28th
for the PB & Jam - San Diego Music
Festival. 40 Bands, 10 Stages, $10.
Great deal, and all the proceeds go to help
support music in the schools. Next weekend,
we've got a double header to kick off Steve's
Bday. If you haven't partied with us at the
Belamar, you're missing out. We party all night
in the energetic unplugged fashion. Check our
Tour Page for all the
upcoming shows. If you see a show in an area
where you don't live but you know someone who
does, tell them about the show. Rock on! Summer Heats Up from So. Cal. to Mexico: 7/21/05 This Saturday, July 23rd don't miss us at The Belly Up in Solana Beach. We hit the stage at 9pm and are playing with the guy from "the land down under" - Colin Hay of Men at Work. It will be an awesome show so don't miss out!! This Sunday, July 24th, we're up in Los Angeles at The Viper Room @ 8:30pm. If you want to be on the discounted list email us your first and last name and we'll add you to the list. What's
New?!!!
What's Up?!!!
Want a
FREE CD?
How's it
Been?!!! The next week took us to Phoenix, AZ where we plugged all our equipment in and jammed full blast in the pouring rain. While other bands were canceling because of the weather we were jamming away. Everything got soaked but we had a blast. Poor Chris got his guitar stolen. That kind of jacked things for a bit. Oh well, we had two guitars, 66 unrecorded songs on mini-disks, a guitar amp, a laptop with all our contacts, and Steve's car stolen last June. But...we Keep On Rollin' cause they'll never take our spirit! More photos from the studio and shows have just been added to the site, as well as Tour updates. Check them out, then go to our Message Board and let us know what you think.
Where's Johnny : 1/23/05 Our respects go out to Johnny Carson who passed away earlier this morning on Sunday, January 23rd, 2005. In his honor we had written a song about him and included it on our "Live at Dublin Square" album. In May of 2004, Johnny wrote a letter thanking us for dedicating the song to him. He said we sounded like a good solid group. Words couldn't describe the excitement we had when we read his hand written letter. Words also couldn't describe how sad we felt when informed of his passing today.
Below are several links where you can download the
song "Where's Johnny" for FREE. Thanks to CDs and DVDs his
legend will live on.
Where's Johnny
Get Ready to Rock in 2005 : 1/6/05
A new year, a new album, a new reason to Rock!
Yes, we're back in the studio and excited about the energy.
We've got guitars, drums, the same mixing console used to
record Michael Jackson's "Thriller," a plethora of mics, and
a
cowbell.
Oh, and a horde of new kick-ass songs you've never heard!
What more could you ask for?! We'll end our studio sessions with a wrap up party at Muldoon's in Newport Beach on Saturday, January 15th. We'll have a few more shows in the San Diego and Riverside areas before we head out to Orlando, Florida at the end of the month. Be sure to check out the Tour Page for show updates. More pictures have been added to the web site and we'll be including pics of our studio antics soon. Last year, we brought out the unplugged side of us...this year the "Masses will Collide!" Stay tuned for more...
It's Getting Close to that Time of Year Again : 11/30/04 It's getting close to that time of year again. We know it because we went to the mall this weekend to do some shopping. Ha! Oh, what fun it is to stand in line. If you missed out on the special sales, we're bringing them straight to ya'! We have FREE SHIPPING at our Online Store. We also have Dublin CD "Holiday Gift Packs!" If you have a few friends you'd like to share some music with, here's the perfect time to do it! This special offer is only available until the end of the year. The season couldn't be complete without a holiday party. Yeah, we've got a few other corporate parties that you won't see listed on our website, but you can come party with us on Dec 22nd for our "Acoustic Xmas" at Dublin Square. All five of us hit the stage with a show you won't want to miss!

East Coast Tour Continues to be a Blast : 9/9/04 Our first trip to New York was amazing! Wow, people tell you it's big but no, it's much bigger than that. We were fortunate to be able to park our van and trailer in the middle of the Manhattan streets as we crashed downtown at the fire station. The guys at engine 7, ladder 1 were great to us and we hope to head back and play a show for them soon. The Wyland August tour kicked in with a blast.., or shall we say a gust...of wind...and a blast of rain from the side, toss in some lightning bolts and you have a great first day of the tour. Actually, the first day in Old Orchard Beach, Maine was great. The morning beach cleanup was a success with over 40 pounds of cigarette buts and tons of trash picked up then a great day of music and art to follow. It was just after we finished that a storm came through with high powered wind and rain that grew some hair on our chest. Imagine tearing down a small festival for the first time in a mini hurricane, running across the beach with 20 foot poles and lightning striking overhead. We thought every day was going to be like that but it actually got easier from there. Our normal days were getting up at 4:30am, heading to the site, setting up the festival, tents, stage, sound, scaffolding...etc, playing music all day till the sun went down, three and a half hour tear down, drive several hours to the next hotel, sleep for two hours and repeat the same thing the next day.... ;) Everyone worked extra hard and we tip our hats to all involved with the Wyland Ocean Challenge Tour. Our escape from Florida was quite an adventure on its own. If not for our newly purchased Verizon air card we wouldn't have been able to connect to the Internet and view the traffic cameras for a perfect exit strategy. Yes, the gas stations were out of gas and water was hard to find. We made it as far as Orlando where we found a gas station with supreme unleaded left and a mile long line. That let us get out of Florida just hours before the hurricane hit. Safe for now, we'll be headed back to Florida just in time for hurricane Ivan. Our condolences go out to all those who lost homes in hurricane Frances. For now we're continuing our journey across the country. Keep in touch with us through our message board while were on tour. Check out 34Below often as we'll be updating our tour page with new shows. You can help us out by telling your friends and family near any of the cities to head out to a show. Thanks again for all your support!!
East Coast Tour Kicks Off : 7/25/04
Summer 2004 reports record heat waves on the East Coast, gas prices are at an all time high, it's hurricane season, Steve's car was stolen with our guitars, equipment, and sixty-six unrecorded songs for the new album.... what better time to launch a US tour!!! Join us this August as we combine forces with world renound artist Wyland in making a clean sweep of the East Coast. This will be the first leg of the tour with the goal to clean up the world's water in 5 years! Learn more about the Wyland Ocean Challenge at www.wylandoceanchallenge.org and find out what you can do to make a difference by visiting The Wyland Foundation at www.wylandfoundation.com. For those of you expecting us to have our new studio album recorded, you'll have to wait a couple more months. We had a minor setback when Steve's car was stolen and lost all our stuff. Lucky for us we kept on rolling with nine more new songs written since then. We'll hit the record button when we get back from tour and promise the next evolution of 34Below late this year/early next year!! We owe a big thanks to Taylor Guitars and Lace Music Products for hooking us up with a steal of a deal on some new axes! We need your help to get the word out! Call your friends and family on the east coast or near any of the cities we'll be at this summer. Tell them to come out to a show! From California to Maine to Florida to Washington we'll be spreading the music if you help spread the word. Keep up to date by checking out the Tour section of the message board. |
